February saw the return of ‘Understanding Allergies’ with guest speakers.
At this hybrid event held at Eastwell Manor in Ashford, Kent, we saw over 50 people join us for an amazing an informative day. Thank you to our sponsors, Creative Nature, The Allergy Badge, Airbourne Allergy Action, AllerGuard and Bio Diagnostics.
We plan to hold the next few around the country, starting with London. To help us refine this event please do take a few minutes and complete this survey. We want your help.
We also launched our Sadie Bristow Allergy Management Fund. The fund is available to anyone in the UK, the bursary will give each family access to a 1-1 consultation with Dr Helen Allergy and access to a dietician, dermatologist and psychologist within a private group over a three month period.
We are also funding some research around the online allergy help; this will help us understand how effective our bursary is and to learn from the outcomes.
If you would like to support our fund through donations please email: clare@sadiebristowfoundation.org.uk
Clare and Thalina joined forces to run a half marathon at Olympic Park London, also running was Grace from Free From Den who is a medical student and allergy sufferer. We are all so proud of each other and the money which we raised to support Sadie Bristow Foundation and Natasha Allergy Foundation. Just over £800 was raised.
Clare continues to give Allergy awareness talks and visited Football and Fitness in Leicestershire
Their coaches see over 500 children attend their camps. She also attended East Kent Headteachers Conference and Blean Primary School. Thank you for having us.
Clare was invited to give a workshop at Kent’s Early years SEND conference. This a great opportunity to meet those who care for our children in all early year settings. Helping them navigate how to care for a child and the whole family whilst the child is in their care.
Helping them understand the processes a family goes through when getting a diagnosis and how stressful that can be. What best practices should be in place when they have a child in their care who has an adrenaline pen etc.
A proud day for Clare who really struggled emotionally with both Sadie and April in early years settings.
SBF and Allergy UK were invited to support the First Ever Adult Allergy centre in East Kent. Dr Mutlu, who is running the clinic, invited renowned Allergists and Immunologists to Kent and Canterbury Medical Centre at the University of Kent. We celebrated this achievement and to be apart of the Allergy Network in this part of Kent. Sadie was born in this hospital and it gives us great pleasure to support such an important part of the Allergy Care pathway.
If you are 16 years and over and think you have an allergy, you can now get referred locally!
This year Wilder Coe chartered accountants have been supporting our charity with various forms of fundraising: 100k cycle in the peak district, Tough Mudder, Bake sale and Pay as you earn contributions. If you would more information on how your company can get involved please email us.
