The prestigious Queens Club London was host to Sadie Bristow Foundation event 2019.

Clubs and schools across the UK, and in particular Kent, that had taken part in a fundraising tournament had juniors representing them in an orange or green ball tournament.

Organised by Graham Silvester both categories had 20 participants, from Bromley, Margate, Bridge, Sevenoaks and Parklangly in Kent as well as from clubs such as Corby, Dorest and Winchester. Bridge and Chartham primary school pupils, who are receiving the foundation’s schools programs, also attended.

The weather was amazing. Graham orchestrated the tournament matches on 3 outdoor courts overlooking the main Queens arena of grass courts. A Wilson zone was on a 4th court with racket testing, fun games, spectators seating and info desk. 2 indoor courts played host to fun games and competitions with prizes for everyone, provided by Wilson, from racket dampers to wristbands, t-shirts and racket bags.

The winners and runners up were presented with a trophy by the Queens Club president. Family members in attendance were offered guided tours of the venue which were thoroughly enjoyed. The foundation thanks all involved on the day for such an outstanding event and to all clubs and schools that attended and took part in fundraising days leading up to the event. It was such an inspirational day.

There is an opportunity up to July 2020 for clubs to run an internal fundraising tournament and select players to attend next years event. Fundraising will train nurses to attend schools across Kent, initially, to deliver workshops and allergy advise clinics. Working with other allergy associations to increase allergy awareness, training and reaching those that need advice and help.
